HAPI (Haiti Artisans)

HAPI is a fair trade 'business as mission' venture, primarily for women. 'Fair trade' is a just solution for poverty, providing a fair wage within the local context, healthy and safe working conditions, and maintaining an environment of dignity and respect. This is a Haitian business with US encouragement.

HAPI is a ministry, committed to growing in knowledge and understanding of Christ within a community of acceptance and cooperation. Woven into the fabric of HAPI is a community of encouragement, support and spiritual bonding that carries the artisans through what is often harsh and demanding primitive living. HAPI seeks to raise the sense of self-worth of women in their homes, community and society and to expand the creative abilities that God has given to all. HAPI is identifying, developing and preparing leaders to provide strong, capable and ethical leadership for HAPI or other endeavors through mentoring, retreats and experiential learning.
